ASTORIA AND GIRO D’ITALIA AT VINITALY

Astoria Wines

The official trophy of the event exhibited at the stand of the venetian company, partner of Giro since 2012. Everyone can pop by and be the protagonist of a Champion picture.

Tuesday 8th April at 12.00 the first bottle of Giro 2014 will be opened at the stand.

This year Astoria Vini, partner for the third year of the cycling competition Giro d’Italia, brings to Vinitaly a big surprise: the official trophy of the event. It is called “Trophy with no end”, as it is made up of a spiral, which goes up from the base and widens in larger circles that increase in number, year by year, displaying the names of winners, all hand-carved on the external surface of the spiral.

From 6 to 9 April the trophy that since 2000 is given to the winner of the Giro will be at the stand, where all cycling lovers will have the opportunity to take a picture, to feel once like champion themselves. “Being able to host the emblem of the extraordinary strains that cyclists will face to conquer the Maglia Rosa – Paolo and Giorgio Polegato, Astoria Vini’s owners, say – is a matter of great pride for us. The diligence and devotion which gather a lot of amateurs of this fantastic sport completely represent the philosophy that direct our company. During these years of partnership with RCS and most themed “pink events” we’ve noticed how cycling is able to arouse enthusiasm, and we’re happy to take the trophy within everyone’s reach for some days”.

As usual, Sparkling 9.5 Cold Wine Astoria will be the protagonist of Giro d’Italia’s podium (a low-alcohol wine, to launch a message of moderation in drinking) but during Vinitaly won’t miss all the excellent wines of the company starting off with Prosecco Superiore DOCG. Paolo and Giorgio Polegato will display to Italian and stranger buyers, sommeliers, professionals and passion-driven people some new wines dedicated to the Repubblica Serenissima of Venice, in an exclusive carved bottle: Arzanà Cartizze Superiore DOCG, Corderie Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore DOCG, Galìe Prosecco Treviso DOC.
