Majestic Mallorca Cycling Tour, through the Sierra Tramuntana Mountain Range.

Journey to the Mediterranean island of Mallorca to experience island life with a Spanish twist. Remarkable beauty is just the beginning on our Mallorca Bike Tour in Spain. Cycle on roads with dramatic cliffs which drop off from both sides and offer sweeping views of the sea.

Climb high into the mountain range: The Sierra de Tramuntana forms the northern backbone of Majorca and has been awarded World Heritage Status by UNESCO. Summiting Puig de Massanella, the mountain’s second highest peak, is a popular excursion – are you up for the challenge of climbing 4,475 feet?

Visit the historic monastery and wander the steep, narrow streets of Valdemossa. Bask in the sunshine along the sparkling coast. You’ll be delighted by the quiet, traffic-free country roads.

This Cycling Tour Mallorca route takes you through majestic mountains, wonderful vineyards, farmlands and pastures, with its exceptional and characteristic interior -rural- Majorcan houses. The circuit is divided into 5 stages of an average of 60-80 km through secondary and country roads. Each stage ends in a small town or village with luxurious accommodations.

Day 4 Pollensa to Soller. 65Km / 33mi

Ready for a challenging day of biking? Much of today’s breathtaking hilly ride follows the spine of the Tramuntana range on the remote pristine western side of Mallorca.
Keep in mind that tomorrow’s routes are even tougher so save some energy! Start out tranquillo by pedaling along narrow, well paved roads—dedicated bike routes—into the countryside past picturesque farmland, windmills and dry stone walls. Pass little village Muscari, Selva and Caimari about 12 km to warm up your muscles. Now starts the climb that brings you to Coll de Sa Batalla and Sanctuary Lluc. It is a secular national symbol and an unexpected oasis of tranquillity, of spirituality, of artistic heritage (the Museum), of unspoilt countryside (the Tramuntana mountains and the Botanic Garden), and of Mallorcan cuisine .
You got it but you have 33 km more! You have now to continue until you reach Sóller, biking near the reservoirs of Gorg Blau and Cúber. Anyway consider once you arrive at the peak of todays 1027 meters, at cum km 37, you will enjoy 16 km downhill, passing the enchanting village of Fornalutx.
For avid bikers: at km 29 you can extend and take the ride downhill on a road called Sa Calobra.
Arrival in Soller!! this town lies in a valley surrounded by the grey-green hills of the Tramuntana. Enjoy your 5 star hotel with a pool on the roof and in the evening, savor a seafood dinner at one of many restaurants of the main square.
Meals included: Breakfast

Day 5Loop to Colle de Sóller & Valldemossa. 57Km / 35mi.

This morning before your ride, you can wander Soller’s peaceful often cobbled streets. In the main square is a gothic church with unusual Modernista facade, the church’s candelabra like summit is visible from all over town. The loop proposed is a beautiful cycle ride, exiting Sóller inland to soon face the climb of the Coll de Sóller. The route packs in more than 1,000m of climbing, so is a great workout without spending all day in the saddle. The Coll de Soller is famous for its 61 hairpin bends. After that a tunnel was built here, the road became relatively free of traffic. Once at the peak, you can enjoy the downhill to Bunyola village. Continue easy riding until a final uphill that leads you to the pretty town of Valdemossa – this is perfect stop for a lunch. Now move to a coastal road towards the artists town of Deià and admire the breathtaking scenery. Back to Soller via the Coll den Bleda.
Meals included: Breakfast

Day 6Sóller to Palma. 37 up to Km / 23 up to 50mi

After fuelling up with breakfast, grab your bike and head north. Tranquil roads take you toward terraced hillsides, dotted with quaint hamlets and windmills tucked among olive and fruit groves. To continue, pedal down the coast, tracing the turquoise Mediterranean, passing alongside stepped mountainside with spectacular cliffs which will stop you in your tracks at viewpoints.
You’ll want to take time off your bike to visit the wonderful towns along this route as well, including 10th-century Banyalbufar, whose verdant marjades – stepped slopes- lead gracefully to the sea. Farther down the road, consider taking a break in charming Estellencs, which dates back to the Middle Ages and is known for its attractive stone streets, terraced plots of farmland, picturesque port and the remains of towers once built to fend off pirates.
Back on your bike, turn inland and feel the sea still following you, riding through the always changing landscape until you reach Andratax. Leave the city at your back and take a stunning narrow, sea view road. Excapdella and Galilea look perfectly built in the natural landscape from here. Another small effort to face the last climb from here on a very narrow road through the woods which ends with a breathtaking downhill into to Palma.
