Cycle to the Ancient Roman Ruins on the Sinis Peninsula

  • Distance: from 45 up to 68 km
  • Difficulty: Very easy trip, all flat.
  • Van assistance: upon request

Cycling loop into the Sinis Peninsula, discovering the Land of the Giants and the punic Harbor of Tharros.

We’ll all meet in Marina di Torregrande or in Oristano (also we can provide a private transfer for you and your group) from where we’ll leave after an accurate bike fitting.

We’ll pedal towards Cabras, which is famous for its pond, its fishermen and especially for its fish eggs (bottarga). After leaving this particular village, we’ll go towards Riola Sardo and then, pedalling through the Sinis peninsula, we’ll move to Putzu Idu, which has one of the most beautiful beaches in Sardinia.

On this beach we’ll can meet the fabulous pink flamingos who settle here on some months of the year. Pedalling towards south on roads where there’s not much traffic and where the vegetation is full with thousands of good fragrances, it will be possible to visit Is Arutas beach, whose characteristic is its sand, as it is made of little ground grains of white quartz; it will also be possible to visit the Mari Ermi beach, which is itself rich with particular colours.

Our next destination is San Giovanni di Sinis where we can admire the beautiful ruins of the ancient roman harbour named Tharros, placed at the beginning of the promontory on the north side of Oristano gulf.

A few km more and we’ll finally be in Marina di Torregrande where we’ll be happy to dive into the sea water.

See you
