November 22nd day one: Welcome to Sardinia
Arrival in Alghero Airport and transfer to Hotel Villa Mosca. Bike fitting.
The Sardinian town of Alghero is a lively and pretty city and a flourishing tourist attraction not only for the summer masses and elite tourism, but also for a new cosmopolitanism. It is famous because it has been dominated by Catalans and just here, some people speak Catalan language. The Mura Catalane (Catalan walls) still surround the old town centre on the seaward side, the wall have towers and it will be pleasant for you to walk along and have a drink at sunset before a seafood dinner!

November 23rd day two: Santu Lussurgiu, Medieval Hilltown
Bike ride from Alghero to Santu Lussurgiu.
Distance 85 km / 52,8 miles hilly
Leaving Alghero and pedaling on secondary roads, we can admire the uneven north-west coast, shaped by Mistral wind
We will arrive in Bosa for a Cappuccino stop: here we can admire from the bottom the massive complex of the Castello dei Malaspina. Here it is also produced a fine wine, Malvasia di Bosa, be sure to taste it!
Leaving Bosa we’ll bike along country roads passing through small villages and we’ll see the famous Siete Fuentes water sources in San Leonardo. Soon we arrive in Santu Lussurgiu, admiring, while descending, the great plateau of Ghilarza.
Santu lussurgiu has been built at the edge of the massive inactive volcanic mountain called Montiferru (iron mountain). The village developed around the small rustic church of Santa Croce (built in 1185 A.D.) and has the characteristic structure of an amphitheatre and steep narrow cobbled lanes you will love to explore!

November 24th day three: Oristano & Thanksgiving Day
Bike ride from Santu Lussurgiu to Oristano
Distance 58 km / 36 miles rolling hill and flat (easy)
Starting from the top of Montiferru we will descend direction Paulilatino and then you’ll pass the Ghilarza plateau and then reach Fordongianus, famous for its thermal springs whose water reaches almost 54 degrees
Cycling then along the Tirso river you’ll reach the Campidano flat and then the little town of Oristano (twenty thousand inhabitants), famous for the queen Eleonora d’Arborea.
The center preserves historic buildings of interest, such as palazzo Aricivescovile, the “Palazzo Comunale” and the “Duomo dell’Assunta”.

November 25th day four: Costa verde and wild coast
Bike ride from Oristano to Guspini
Distance 72 km / 44 miles flat and rolling hill (easy)
Departure from Oristano to cross the gulf of the same name, through Arborea and the typical fisherman village of Marceddì. After crossing the lagoon of Marceddì it begins the fantastic Costa Verde with its majestic scenery and its unspoiled landscapes. You will come to Portu Maga, with a fantastic view on the sea. Then we will ride along the coast and then back towards the mine area of Montevecchio, the heart of today’s ride. The function of the mining area was active until 1991 and from there onwards there was a relentless depopulation of the area, but with the establishment of the Geo-Mining Park, and the Environmental History of Sardinia, Recognized by UNESCO, this area has become a resource for active tourism. In the afternoon descend to Guspini to the fantastic hotel Sa Rocca were you will enjoy fantastic massages at hotel SPA

November 26th day five: Costa Verde, Buggerru and Nebida
Distance 80 km/49,7 miles hilly
Let’s start with a gentle downhill from Sardara and we warm up muscle in a flat part. Then start the up to Arbus through prickly pears (everywhere in Sardinia). Then we reach the coast and enjoy a beautiful view of this wild coast. Admire the “pan di Zucchero” an outcropping rock 133 meters high and has two natural arches, and the little fish village Buggerru. End of ride in Fontanamare, transfer to Cantine 6mura or cantine Mesa for wine tasting and visit cellars After wine tasting transfer to Pula at charming and elegant is morus hotel with private beach.

November 27th day six– Circular bike ride on the coast Domus de Maria, Teulada, Chia
Distance 66 km/ 41 miles flat and rolling hill
We will ride inland to Domus de Maria and we face the only big hill just before Teulada. Then we will enjoy the up and down skirting Baia Chia. It is a fantastic seaside spot: the white sandy beaches, the high sand dunes and the crystalline water have a Caribbean feel. It is only the Mediterranean vegetation and in particular the juniper trees, “Ginepro” typical of this region, that remind you this fantastic island is in the Mediterenean.
