The chefs who teach you will be: Pierluigi Fais in Oristano, Riccardo Porceddu in Santu Lussurgiu and the famous Roberto Petza in Siddi.
Day one: Welcome to Sardinia
Welcome to the Hotel Antica Dimora del Gruccione in Santu Lussurgiu: meeting at Oristano train station and private transfer to the hotel, professional bike fitting and ride test on the roads around the village. The village in which you will overnight is developed around the small rustic church of Holy Cross ( Santa Croce built in 1185 A.D.) and has the characteristic structure of an amphitheater, with ancient stone houses built in concentric configuration along winding and steep narrow cobbled lanes you will love to explore! Gourmet dinner at hotel tasting the local cheese and the fabulous “Stinco di Bue Rosso” (shank of red ox)

Day two: Cuglieri & Malvasia
Cycling: loop ride from Santu Lussurgiu to Cuglieri, Scano, Siete Fuentes. Distance: 64 km / 40 miles or 85 km / 53 miles visiting Bosa
Today we will bike along country roads passing through small villages such as Magomadas and Cuglieri and we will reach the famous Siete Fuentes water sources in San Leonardo, where we can relax in the woods. Soon we will arrive on the top of Montiferru (iron mountain), admiring, while descending, the great plateau of Ghilarza. We will come across lots of Nuraghe and suggestive lands. Come back to Santu Lussurgiu and ready for your first cooking classes at Antica Dimora del Gruccione restaurant. Our chef Riccardo Porceddu we will introduce to the preparation of ravioli Culurgiones and capocollo di suino: enjoy it.

Day three: Oristano & Vernaccia
Cycling: from Santu Lussurgiu to Oristano via Fordongianus. Distance: 54 km / 33 miles downhill,flat terrain.
First we’ll pedal downhill in the region of Montiferru, a dormant volcano, passing through small towns and Nuraghi. On the way we will stop in Fordongianus, an old Punic-Roman SPA area, where you can visit the ruins, then cross the Campidano flat and skirt the Temo river. Finally we will arrive in Oristano, a town of fishermen and horsemen. After a visit to the cobbled street of the city, a short transfer to Cabras village, famous for the production of bottarga (Sardinian caviar), for wine tasting at “Cantine Contini”, and try the delicious dry wine of the area: Vernaccia di Oristano. Tonight you are free to choose and try the others best restaurants of the city.

Day four : Tharros & Bottarga
Cycling: Loop ride Cabras, San Giovanni di Sinis, Torre Grande. Distance: 55 km / 34 miles, all flat
Today we will make a particular starting: we will escort our chef Pierluigi Fais at city market where he will show us the ingredients used in his cuisine. Then we will ride in the picturesque “Sinis” peninsula, where there are plenty of ponds and lagoons and where, depending on the season, you will be able to see pink flamingos. We’ll pass through Cabras, the production area of the famous bottarga (the Sardinian caviar)and stop for moving on and visit the ruins of the Punic-Roman port city of “Tharros” with a breathtaking view. The tour continue in Marina di Torre Grande where we’ll stop for lunch at the restaurant “da Giovanni”, to taste his unforgettable peppered mussels. Ready for your second cooking classes at the restaurant “Josto al Duomo” adjacent to your hotel, ready to prepare delicious dishes with Pierluigi.

Day five : Siddi & Malloreddus
Cycling: bike ride to Guspini via Gonnosnò, Barumini, Siddi. Distance 67 km / 41,5 miles, rolling hills
After breakfast we’ll ride in the region of Monte Arci, it is quite an easy way. But the most exciting visit will be the one at Barumini in Marmilla area, a Nuragic city famous thanks to the most important archeological area of the island: the Su Nuraxi complex, which has appeared. During the Bronze Age and which represents the symbol of the island. Reach Siddi where the chef Roberto Petza welcome us at renowned cooking school at the restaurant “S’Apposentu di casa Puddu” (three forgs on the Michelin Guide). Let’s cook pasta as saffron malloreddus, ravioli with lettuce or tallutzas and then dinner! After dinner short transfer to Guspini at terrific Tartheshotel.

Day six: Costa Verde & Black Sheep Cheese
Cycling: loop bike ride from Guspini to Sant’Antonio di Santadi, Portu Maga, Montevecchio. Distance: 70 km / 43,5 miles
From Guspini we start crossing the Campidano flat and taking a completely flat road until Sant’Antonio di Santadi for exactly 30 km! At this point we are warmed enough and can face the hills of Costa Verde (Green Cost). We will ride in a wild contest until to reach the fisherman little villages of Porto Palma, Tunaria and Portu Maga; here we stop for a cheese tasting at Funtanazza farm, to try the pecorino cheese make just from black sheep of the Arbus area. Ready for last climb to Montevecchio, an old mine village. The mines of Montevecchio are now an important site of industrial archaeology, part of the historic Parco Geominerario.
After this quickly, stop enjoy the downhill to Guspini.

Notes: Our daily itinerary of cycling is designed to be a vacation, not a race! . We will cover an average of 30 to 35 miles a day. Advanced cyclists who want to ride more are accommodated, backup transportation and support are always available.

Alghero is a lively and pretty city and a flourishing tourist attraction not only for the summer masses and elite tourism, but also for a new cosmopolitanism. Bike-test on the old-town.
Cycling: skirt the coast on a secondary rolling hills terrain. you leave Alghero biking up on beautiful uplands. Admire the massive castello Malaspina in Bosa. You will arrive in Santu Lussurgiu after the climb to Montiferru iron mountain.
