You will spend a week biking all around rugged Landscape of the island: from the west coast, (Alghero and Bosa), to Medieval villages and Roman towns, such as Santu Lussurgiu, then down to Oristano, rich in history. You can visit Nora in the south coast , Punic-Roman ruins complex, and admire the famous beach SAN NICCOLAO, made by pure white little pebbles. You will arrive in Tuili where you can visit the unique nuraghe village – Unesco heritage site – Su Nuraxi in Barumini. Your final destination is Pula, a pretty, little coastal village with many restaurants and shops.
Description Day by Day
DAY 1 Benvenuti to Alghero & to Coral Coast
Arrival in Alghero Airport and transfer to Hotel Villa Mosca. Bike fitting. The Sardinian town of Alghero is a lively and pretty city and a flourishing tourist attraction not only for the summer masses and elite tourism, but also for a new cosmopolitanism. It is famous because it has been dominated by Catalans and just here, some people speak Catalan language. The Mura Catalane (Catalan walls) still surround the old town centre on the seaward side, the wall have towers and it will be pleasant for you to walk along and have a drink at sunset before a seafood dinner!

DAY 2 Bosa & Santu Lussurgiu: Malvasia wine and Medieval hilltowns
Bike ride from Alghero to Santu Lussurgiu skirting the coast and then inland after Bosa. Distance 87 km / 54 mi. Total elevation gain: 1700 m.
Leaving Alghero and pedaling on secondary roads you can admire the uneven north-west coast, shaped by Mistral wind, but do not worry: the wind will be on your side. You will arrive in Bosa where you can admire the massive complex of the Castello dei Malaspina. Nature has done a great work along the coast of Bosa. . Here it is also produced a fine wine, Malvasia di Bosa, be sure to taste it!
Leaving from Bosa, to go then up to the inland and pass through characteristic little villages such as Magomadas and Cuglieri. Finally you arrive in Santu Lussurgiu, which has been built at the edge of the massive inactive volcanic mountain called Montiferru (iron mountain), where you will find the Montiferru castle.

DAY 3 Tuili & Barumini: Su Nuraxi Unesco Eritage Site
Bike ride from Santu Lussurgiu to Tuili via Barumini. Distance 80 km / 50 mi inland. Total elevation gain: 1100m..
First part is downhill and flat terrain until Fordongianus, where you can stop for a cappuccino and where you can visit the ruins of the old Punic-Roman SPA area. You’ll bike through secondary roads up and down the hill through little villages, the highlight today is Barumini, a small village placed in the heart of Sardinia which has become famous thanks to the most important archeological area of the island (UNESCO SITE): the Su Nuraxi complex, a visit not to be missed. Sardinia is quite well known not only for its natural beauties, but also for its typical and peculiar buildings named Nuraghe, which have appeared during the Bronze Age and which represent the symbol of the island. You will finally arrive at the charming village of Tuili.

DAY 4 Arbus & Green Coast
Bike ride from Tuili to Portu Maga via Costa Verde. Distance: 80 km / 50 mi. Total elevation gain: 800 m.
From Tuili you start crossing the Marmilla hilly area and Campidano flat, taking a completely flat road until Sant’Antonio di Santadi! At this point we are warmed enough and can face the hills of Costa Verde (Green Cost). You will ride in a wild contest until to reach the fisherman little villages of Porto Palma, Tunaria and finally Portu Maga, your destination for today.

DAY 5 San Pietro & Sant’Antioco Islands
Bike ride from Portu Maga to Calasetta. Distance 133 km / 82 mi. Total elevation gain: 1650 m.
Leaving the hotel, ready for the first climb to Montevecchio, an old mine village. The mines of Montevecchio are now an important site of industrial archaeology, part of the historic Parco Geominerario and after the long downhill towards the ocean, stop at Portixeddu and its long beach. Skirting the coast, stunning views of long sandy beaches and rugged promontories. You will arrive in Nebida in front of Pan di Zucchero, an outcropping rock 133 meters high. Today you have the option to visit the little San Pietro Island, taking the ferry boat in Portoscuso. Here the highlights are the pink flamingos and the lovely city of Carloforte in Genoese Style. Your final destination is the little fisherman village of Calasetta on Sant’Antioco Island.

DAY 6 Chia, Pula & terrific South Coast
Bike ride to Pula via Teulada. Distance: 102 km / 63,3 mi. Total elevation gain: 820 m.
Your last day is terrific: the begining is in the Carignano wine road in the heart of Sulcis Area, then ride along craggy cliffs with ancient fortified watchtowers alternate with little sandy coves and long stretches of sandy beaches, terrain is up and down until Baia Chia. The crystalline water have a Caribbean feel, it is only the Mediterranean vegetation and in particular the juniper trees, “Ginepro” typical of this region, that reminds you are in Sardinia

DAY 7: after breakfast end of tour. Bus, taxi or private transfer available to Cagliari or other destination on the island
Extra day in Calasetta: Carloforte or loop in Santadi wine area
Option A Ferry boat from Calasetta to Carloforte and loop in the island 30 km/ 18,7 mi Total elevation gain: 400 m.
Option B , Cycling: from Calasetta to Tratalias, Santadi, come back via Saline 82km /51,2 mi Total elevation gain: 930 m.
The first ride is very easy you can take the ferry boat in Calasetta harbor with your bike and in twenty minute you’ll reach the Carloforte island where you’ll enjoy his rolling hill way. The island is small and peaceful, but very beautiful and reach of history.
The option B is for who want ride strong in the Santadi wine area. The way is rolling hill and flat but the distance is not for beginners
