Bicycling Sardinia: Alghero to Sardara, Medieval towns, Nuraghi and Roman ruins
Sardinia has always been a popular escape spot, not only for its beautiful beaches, but also for its remote nature and landscape. Its waters resemble that of the Caribbean!
You will spend a week biking through this rugged landscape of the island. From the west coast of Alghero and Bosa, to the medieval villages and Roman towns, such as Santu Lussurgiu, down to Oristano, rich in history. You can also visit the ruins of Tharros, a Punic-Roman complex, and admire the famous beach IS ARUTAS, made of pure white quartz pebbles. You will arrive in Sardara and round off the tour by visiting the unique Nuraghe village – Unesco heritage site – Su nuraxi in Barumini.
The cuisine is also a mélange of cultures and traditions with a wide variety of good wines made in Sardinia, especially sweet wines. Taste typical recipes which are based on lamb, wild boar or seafood specialties, including shellfish and octopus.

Arrival in Alghero airport, and transfer to Hotel Villa Mosca for lodging and bike fitting. The Sardinian town of Alghero is a lively, pretty city and a flourishing tourist attraction not only for the summer masses and elite tourism, but also for a new cosmopolitanism. It is known in Sardinia because only here you will find people speaking the Catalan language due to its historical domination by the Spanich Catalans. The Mura Catalane (Catalan walls), still surround the old town center on the seaward side. The walls are built with towers, which make it pleasant for you to walk along and have a drink at sunset before a seafood dinner!
